What's your Addiction?

First I have to say how excited I was when I seen I won Janae's give away at CozyCoops Corner! I never win anything. I not only won but I won big I feel so blessed! Thanks again Janae.

*****************************

Now I have to ask what's your addiction? Almost eleven years ago I quit smoking and everyone knows one addiction leads to another right? Well, my new addiction was collecting. I started collecting the Boyd's Bears and then it went to another collection. I am now addicted to Longaberger Baskets. I bought one from my sister in-law then she had a party and I bought another. She talked me into booking a show. I sold over $1000. They were having a special for every $500 you sold you got a free market basket. So I received 2 market baskets and several half price items and I believe over $100 worth of free merchandise. When I realized all the free and 1/2 off items you could earn I was addicted. It's been about 8 years since I bought my first basket and I have so many I am scared to count. If that wasn't bad enough I then started collecting their pottery. I used to have a lot of book parties but I have calmed it down now to one big blow out a year. I usually earn enough to get that new basket I must have. Here are few pictures of my addiction.

This is just a few of my many baskets. I just love them and use them in every room in my house. I also love bowls. I have bought almost every Longaberger Bowl they have made. I also love stars and miniature pieces of pottery or jars. I also scrapbook and I have a thing for ABC's. I have to have them in all sizes shapes and colors. Oh and my newest addiction is picture frames. One day I'd love to collect old crocks and wooden bowls.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will share some pictures of your addictions/collections.

Donna, I'm so glad you are excited to have won :-) You do have a lot of those baskets! I think my addiction is just primitive and colonial items in general. I love crocks, stitcheries, coverlets, or whatever primitive item I happen to be looking for at the time. I also love buying Bare Escentuals makeup and have more of it than I'll ever need, but there are so many great colors! :-) Last addiction is probably Starbucks! I love a good coffee ! Have a great night Donna!

Donna,

I'm so excited that you won! What a bright spot in the middle of looking for jobs! God is good, isn't he? I can't wait to see your new stuff in your home! Yay for you!

Gosh one of my bad addictions is Diet Mountain Dew! I'm probably a little too addicted to my computer! As far as decorating goes, I do love stars, crocks, wooden bowls, stitcheries...just anything that feels like it belongs in my home...so I guess you could say I'm addicted to decorating my home, I guess???

Anyway, what a way for you to go...to give up smoking for all those great baskets and bears! That's a good trade! :)

Have a great Tuesday!

Hugs,
Tammy

Hi Donna!Love all your baskets! I bought the cheap plastic pears at walmart, painted them with the modge podge the coated in cinnamon. I made the label too and just coffee stained it. Donna, thanks for stopping by my blog. It's always fun to meet new ladies. I looked throught your blog, you do have a collection of nice baskets! I wanted to get back to you about the labels. I did make the label on the old bucket. I just used papyrus font in words~printed it off~ stained it with coffee and glued it on. It is easy. There are some other labels I purchased off of ebay. natalile said I could publish her email address if anyone was intersted. Just mention my name please, its bluecupboardprimitives@yahoo.com
thanks so much for the nice comments and I will be back to check your blog out, Dawn

Congrats on winning! Janae is the sweetest gal!!

I once sold Longaberger baskets so I have many in the attic and in the family room downstairs. Shhh - don't tell anyone that I have painted and aged several to make them more primitive. I plan to do that to more as well.

Other than being addicted to food, I am addicted to anything to do with prim and colonial. Reading about it, collecting the items, seeing others homes and collections. You name it! LOL

And congrats on quitting smoking. That is tremendous!!

Congrats on winning! It was a great giveaway...love the baskets, I just have a few but love them.

I guess I'm addicted to anything that has to do with prim decorating, I could go into a prim/colonial store and probably stay all day if they'd let me:) Love the prim magazines too:)
Have a great evening!

You have won some lovely things, no wonder you are excited.
I have quite a few addictions myself, it is simply completely impossible for me to walk past a bookstore, flowershops are equally bad for me.
So, I decided that enough was enough and I started to collect vintage glassware and vintage Christmas brooches, the nice and sparkly ones with lots of crystals.
I am not sure that it makes any sense to replace one addiction with another one, but there you have it.
Oh, and blogging, but I am so new to that that I allow myself to be obsessed by it.

I just discovered your blog thru Janae's. Your longaberger collection reminds me of my cousin's. She sells them too. My one addiction is my french vanilla cappuccino in the morning but trying to wean myself. I use to collect precious moments but when DH and I both lost our jobs, I had to quit.

Take care,
Debbie
